Sirius was lounging in his chair at his ease, tilting it back on two legs. He was very good-looking; his dark hair fell into his eyes with a sort of casual elegance neither James's nor Harry's could ever have achieved, and a girl sitting behind him was eyeing him hopefully though he didn't seem to have noticed.

He still has hope that his brother will realize the absurdity of this pureblood supremacy.
cousins;Bellatrix Lestrange, née Black, Andromeda Tonks, née Black, Narcissa Malfoy, née Black. Andromeda is, and always has been, Sirius' favorite cousin. She was the only one who didn't treat him as if he'd committed some great treachery when he was sorted into Gryffindor and was able to break free from the family's absurd views on pureblood mania. uncle; Alphard Black. As far as Sirius is concerned, Alphard is the only adult-figure in his family who's worth mentioning. He still speaks to Andromeda and Sirius despite the fact that they've been disowned and doesn't berate them for having an original thought.
FRIENDS :
james potter; James Potter is the best friend Sirius could have ever hoped for. It's as if whoever was responsible for life on Earth had accidentally put the same mind in two different bodies, though Sirius is, undoubtedly, far more charming and attractive. In his quite humble opinion. He'd follow all of his friends to the end, but James, most of all. remus lupin; Sirius has always seen Remus as one who needed protecting. He was always quieter and more introverted than the rest of them, so Sirius felt he had to speak up on his behalf, despite however Remus felt about it. When James, Peter, and himself discovered Remus' secret, this feeling of protectiveness increased tenfold and whoever even pokes a bit of fun at Remus has Sirius to answer to. peter pettigrew; Sirius has never stopped and thought about why Peter Pettigrew is included in their group of friends. He just sort of followed them around, though uninvited, so Sirius just started including him. He's a pretty reliable sort. Slow, but reliable.

history! Sirius quite had a pleasant upbringing. He had parents who loved him and whom he loved in return. He was taught all the things that a proper boy should know, of course - literature, poetry, french, etiquette - but that was all very natural to him. This was how things should be, it was how all the men in his life were. It was a simple, easy life he lived. He had everything he wanted and whenever he did well, his mother would give him a lovely smile, which, in Sirius's opinion, made her look quite beautiful, and his father would tell him he was very proud of him. But, Regulus always outshone him. He was always a little bit more proper, a little bit more articulate, a little bit better in Latin, so Sirius desperately accepted whatever approval he got, from his parents or elsewhere.
In the early months of his eleventh year, he had wandered out of the house on his own and spotted a group of children playing in the park. He was appalled by the things they were doing. Running around, getting scrapes and bruises, dirtying themselves and their clothes with mud, it was all so improper, yet at the same time, it looked like such fun. He sat quietly and watched them at first, until a boy came over and asked him if he wanted to join in. "What are you doing?" Sirius had asked. "Playing," he'd responded with a look that said 'pretty obviously.' So, Sirius played and was told "wow, you're a pretty brilliant dragon," which made him swell with pride. That evening, Sirius came home covered with dirt, with scrapes on his elbows and knees. When he had told his mother why he was in such a state, Walburga's face a state of fury (a rather comical state of fury, Sirius had noted with slight bemusement). "Played?" she had asked in an unnaturally shrill voice, "Played and ran about in an absolutely inappropriate manner like some commoner? And with muggles, no less!"
The last bit had been news to Sirius, he hadn't know they were muggles. He was nothing sort of confused. He had thought of muggles as awful creatures who would try to light his on fire or hold him under water upon seeing him, but they were a great lot and far more fun than her stuffy family.
Walburga forbade him from ever running around with their sort again. Naturally, Sirius went out the next day to play with his new friends. He had promised them, what else was he meant to do? About a week later, Sirius decided that his family wasn't always right about everything, and that it was okay to break the rules every once in a while. After all, playing with muggles was great fun.
Later that year, Sirius was off to Hogwarts. His mother, father, and brother had seen him off, along with her aunt and uncle, who had come with his cousins. "Make us proud," Walburga had said, "become a wizard worthy of calling himself a Black." So, Sirius was on the train, nervous, and hoping he would do the Black name proud when he met a fellow first year named James Potter. Sirius liked James Potter, James Potter was fun and interesting and not like any wizard boy his age he'd ever met before. When James Potter said he had thought he was all right, Sirius was afraid he'd lose any chance of friendship with James Potter if he ended up in Slytherin, so he blurted out "maybe I'll break the tradition."
When the time to be sorted into houses came, the Hat had a bit of trouble with him. Though he didn't want to lose James Potter, he still very much wanted to please his parents and become a wizard worthy of calling himself a Black. The Sorting Hat called out "Gryffindor!" and with a triumphant look in James Potter's direction, Sirius took his seat at the Gryffindor table.
The next morning, letters came from home. Not only letters, but howlers. His mother calling him a disgrace, his father saying he was very disappointed. Sirius didn't understand what he'd done wrong, and he was quite angry with his parents. All he'd done was be sorted; if anything, it was the Sorting Hat's fault. It was the one who placed him in Gryffindor. Still, as angry as he was, he was frightened. Frightened that this was just another area that Regulus was trump him in, frightened that his parents wouldn't love him anymore, frightened that he'd made his entire family cross with him, and he started searching for attention and approval from people he knew would accept him. His dormmates. Over time, as his relationship with his roommates strengthened and his relationship with his family deteriorated, he grew to resent his parents, to hate them, for seeing him as such a disappointment and mar on the Black line just for being a Gryffindor and for finding muggles and muggleborns all right.
Through his time at Hogwarts, Sirius has made himself quite a reputation and his name is either followed by rolling of the eyes, an enamored sigh, or a "great bloke, that Sirius Black." He didn't much care what people thought of him, as long as they were thinking of him and this became the story of his life. He wasn't acting out in order to get attention, he did what he did because he thought it was fun and he enjoyed laughing at the humiliation of others. He just loved that everyone knew his name and was talking about him afterward. There was one particularly unfortunate prank involving Snivellus and a werewolf, who was, in fact, Moony. Sirius didn't really see what the fuss was about, if Snape had gotten hurt, it wouldn't have been anything worse than what they'd done, but with the way James went on about it made him feel just a little bit guilty. In addition to pranks, Sirius has gone through a lot with his group of friends: James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. Creating the Marauder's Map, discovering Remus' secret, becoming animagii for the sake of their friend, Sirius is very glad to say that he's got on quite well without the aide of his family.
Though, they are still his family and he is forced to return to number twelve Grimmauld Place every summer. Though, last summer, a shouting match between his mother and himself had gone too far and Sirius found himself storming out of his home and at James' doorstep. Luckily, Mr. and Mrs. Potter had always been kind to him and were more than willing to let him stay with them until everything got sorted out. Sirius can't quite remember what he was arguing with his mother about, as they were always for the most absurd reasons, but he vaguely remembers it involving something to do with him seeing a muggle girl.
personality! Sirius is, for a lack of better words, intense. He's either extremely happy or extremely upset or extremely angry, there is rarely any middle ground with him. It's rather impressive, how he can change moods so quickly. He'll be brooding and far too serious for an eleven year old boy one minute, and with the tiniest distraction, he'll be chipper and running around, skinning his knees while chasing after a frog the next. He never stops for a breather and is constantly moving, whether it's physically or another one of his mood swings.
He has quite a temper and is very quick to feel very strongly about things and lets everyone know exactly how he feels about it in a very loud way, which often puts people off. Generally, though, Sirius is an outgoing and friendly boy and he will like people as long as they like him in return, or aren't hated by someone he wants to like him.
STRENGTHS : courage; Sirius does what he wants without worrying about the consequences. Normally, it's that he doesn't consider the consequences, but if someone were to say, "but Sirius, we would get in an awful lot of trouble," he would respond with, "well, it would be well worth it!" Which, is a stupid sort of courage, but is an impressive sort of courage nonetheless. loyalty; Sirius will blindly follow people to the very end, if he cares about them and believes in their ideals enough. He won't, or rather, would refuse to, see their flaws and wound never question their judgment and stand by them, despite what others may say. It is possible to lose Sirius' loyalty, however, though it is incredibly difficult to do. self-sacrificing; Sirius is more than willing to let himself take the fall rather than see someone he cares about get hurt. Even when Regulus would accidentally crack a frame of a dead relative's portrait, Sirius would let himself take the blame rather than relish watching his parents punish his brother instead of himself. energetic; It is really, really, quite difficult to get Sirius to settle down. He has the energy of a dozen young boys and is well capable of running around all day. Though this may seem more of a weakness than a strength, Sirius can do nearly anything without getting tired or cranky, so as long as nothing rubs him the wrong way, can remain in the highest of spirits despite the level of labor he's had to endure.
WEAKNESS : ego; Sirius likes to be liked by the people he wants to be liked by. The people he wants to be liked by is generally, everyone who is not disliked by people he likes or are friends with. He hates to lose face and if he feels that it's threatened, he'll react in a fairly bratty manner. temper; Sirius is quick to anger, just as he's quick to any other emotion. But Sirius' anger isn't just a brooding, quiet sort, he throws tantrums, he throws things and is prone to breaking valuable objects, if he's angry enough. He's gotten into a bit of trouble for "accidentally" knocking vases over while on one of his fits. poor judgment; Sirius always goes with whatever he thinks is "a good idea." Unfortunately, whatever he thinks is "a good idea" is rarely the smart idea. As such, he almost always ends up making bad decisions. impulsive; Sirius never has any "plans" he does things as he thinks of them and takes care of things as they come up. He never takes time to consider what the possible outcomes of his actions are and fails to see what harm he can do to himself and others and though it's certainly not his intention to hurt them, that's generally how it turns out.
FEARS : Losing his brother, his friends. HABITS : He chews his bottom lip and rocks back and forth when he's nervous. Well, he tends to chew his lip absentmindedly most of the time, anyway. MENTAL HEALTH : Though most Blacks have a tendency to be mad on some level, as of now, Sirius is fairly sane, albeit a bit temperamental. HERO : He's never really thought about that. His Uncle Alphard, he supposes. BOGGART : Regulus, just like their parents. PATRONUS : A bear, surprisingly. ANIMAGUS : A large, bear-like, black dog.
appearance! HEIGHT : 5'10" WEIGHT : 159 lbs. HAIR : Black and in a casual, yet attractive, disarray. EYES : Grey and unfairly transparent when it comes to how he's feeling. MANNER OF SPEECH : Sirius is quite loud and his voice can be a bit annoying. He speaks with a common Londoner accent, which turns rather posh when he's upset or agitated. MANNER OF DRESS : Clothing just hangs onto him as if they'd been made to fit him exactly that way. His shirts are always slightly untucked and his tie just slightly loose, and it all seems very casually deliberate. DETAILS : Sirius is a good looking boy, blessed with undeniably good bone structure that's visible from even beneath his baby fat. He has an aristocratic, haughty sort of elegance about him, as though he was actually bred from royalty(and, according to his parents, he was). He carries himself with far too much confidence for his own good and generally has a placid expression on his face with an irritatingly attractive smirk.
miscellaneous! FAVOURITE BOOK : If asked, he'd snort and say "What's the use in having a favourite book? I never read." Though, he does like Romeo and Juliet. He'd never admit to it because it'd make him seem like a ponce, but he likes the idea that they were so passionate about each other that they were willing to die for it. FAVOURITE COLOUR : Red. FAVOURITE SCENT : Vanilla. FAVOURITE ACTIVITY : Maraudering. FAVOURITE FLAVOUR : Vanilla. FAVOURITE MUSIC : Jazz. Muggle Punk Rock. FAVOURITE PLACE: The park by his home. FAVOURITE FOOD : Lemon flavoured biscuits. FAVOURITE ANIMAL : Dogs. Big dogs in particular.
DISLIKED BOOK : A book of poems his parents made him read. DISLIKED ACTIVITY : Being lectured. DISLIKED FLAVOUR : Fishy flavours. DISLIKED PLACE : Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place. DISLIKED MUSIC : Classical. DISLIKED FOOD : Fishy foods. DISLIKED ANIMAL : Small dogs. They're temperamental and picky.
FIRST KISS : His second year, a Ravenclaw girl was being rather annoying and talking a lot, so Sirius kissed her to shut her up. She looked quite shocked and furious at the same time, which he, oddly, thought was rather endearing. FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL : A mixture of anger, excitement, fear, and nerves. FIRST FAILURE : The first time his parents told Regulus he did well instead of him. FIRST LOSS : The same as his first failure. FIRST SEXUAL ENCOUNTER: A muggle girl called Olivia Fisher. He was her first and she was his. Their first time was a little bit sloppy and a little bit clumsy, as most first times are, but it was absolutely perfect. She was everything Sirius ever wanted in a girl, but it's probably that the two of them were too similar that they didn't work out.
ROMANTIC STATUS : Single. ROMANTIC PARTNER : He doesn't have one. They never last very long. SEXUALITY : Heterosexual. TURN - ONS : Girls who are mysterious, girls who are a little bit hard to get, girls who "have that breezy sort of quality about them." TURN - OFFS : Girls who are too easy, girls who are too assertive, and girls who are no fun at all.
